The Silent Cross!
My love, I'm just writing a few simple lines, nothing fancy at all, but my heart aches so deeply when I think about husbands like me… like the man who's trying so hard for you and our family.
Every day I wake up before dawn, come home late at night, my shoulders weighed down with bills, school fees, grocery money, medicine costs… There are moments I'm so exhausted I just want to sit in a quiet corner, close my eyes, and breathe for a second. But then I stand up again, wipe the sweat from my face, and smile at you and the kids like everything is okay.
Sometimes I hear words of blame, misunderstandings, things that don't seem fair, and my heart suddenly stings so sharply. I want to speak, to let it all out, to tell you how tired and pressured I feel… but I swallow it back, afraid that saying anything would make our home feel even heavier. So I choose silence. I choose to endure. I choose to keep walking forward.
It's like carrying a cross on my shoulders. The heavier it gets, the more it hurts… yet strangely, every time I see our child bent over their books studying hard, see you preparing a warm meal, see our little home still safe and standing – my heart suddenly feels warm. So much quiet happiness, even if it's small and hidden.
But my love, I know… the road ahead is still so long. There are still so many worries, so many burdens I don't know when they'll lighten. There are nights I lie awake beside you, happy because our children are growing up strong, yet terrified that one day I won't have the strength left to take care of them anymore. Tears fall silently on the pillow, but I wipe them away quickly so you won't see.
I just want to say this: Thank you for being by my side, even when you don't fully understand everything I'm carrying. Even if no one says it out loud, even if sometimes I feel useless, feel like no one truly sees… there is still you, and our children – the reason I keep going, day after day. I'm grateful for your presence, and quietly grateful for my own silent sacrifices too.
Keep going with me, okay? No matter how heavy this cross is, I can still carry it. And when I'm too tired, just let me sit down for a little while… then I'll stand up again. Because behind me – beside me – is you and our family, growing up leaning on each other.
I love you and cherish you so much.
