THE ADVENT TRUTH
The claim is, “The New Covenant says the fault was found with the Law.” But family… that’s not what Scripture says. Not even close. Hebrews 8:7–8 is crystal clear: “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them…”
Not the Law.
Not the Sabbath.
Not the Ten Commandments.
THEM. The people. Humanity. Us.

God didn’t look at His own perfect Law—His very character in written form—and say, “Well… this is broken.” No. Psalm 19:7 says “the Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul.” Paul said the Law is “holy, and the commandment holy, just, and good” (Romans 7:12). Jesus said not one jot or tittle would pass away (Matthew 5:17–19). God’s Law wasn’t the problem. We were.

The Old Covenant failed because the people promised, “All that the Lord hath spoken we will do” (Exodus 19:8)… yet they couldn’t. They said yes with their lips but didn’t have the power in their hearts. The covenant was built on human promises, and human promises break like cheap plastic in the sun.

So God brought the New Covenant—built, not on our promises, but on HIS.
“I will write My Law in their hearts.”
“I will be their God.”
“I will remember their sins no more.”
(Jeremiah 31:31–34)

The same Law…
The same commandments…
The same Sabbath He blessed, sanctified, and wrote with His finger…
But this time, written inside the believer by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 8 does not teach a new standard. It teaches a new location of the standard. From stone tablets → to the human heart.

So when someone tries to say the “fault” was the Law, gently remind them:

The Law stood perfect. We did not.
So God didn’t change His standard—He changed His people.

The New Covenant is not the removal of God’s Law—it’s the restoration of God’s Law inside a restored people.
