Fake Friends
Real friends are an incredible blessing in your life. A true, trusted, and loyal friend is priceless! The Bible says in Romans 12:10, “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” In other words, God is telling you how to be a friend - by loving and putting your friends' needs above your own. And in Proverbs 17:17, you are counseled about being a loyal friend; “A friend loves at ALL times.” It’s important not to be a “wishy-washy” friend, where you are nice one moment and ignore them the next. God even gives advice on how to find a friend and how to be a faithful friend in Proverbs 18:24, “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” It is heartbreaking to find out someone you ‘thought’ was your friend - really isn’t! Especially when you have invested a lot of time in the friendship, and you have trusted them with your heart. These kind of friends are “fake friends” and life's too short to have relationships without trust.” It’s important to choose friends who will be there for you through thick and thin! Jesus is a true friend, and He will never throw you under the bus or turn his back on you! Seek godly friends - avoid “fake friends,” and choose Jesus to be your Best Friend for life! Text: Proverbs 13:20, John 15:13, Job 6:14, Proverbs 16:28
