THREE ANGELS BROADCASTING NETWORK DEVOTIONAL
Believe in God.

By Jose Del Valle January 15th, 2026

“I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:15–17

Do you want to have a good life? Then you should believe, as Job did, when he said, “I know that my Redeemer lives.” Job 19:25. Believe and have faith in God, no matter what the world says. Your closeness with Him must be something so great that nothing can take it away—not sickness or pain, anguish or worry, not even death. Become friends with God and call Him “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6. All these blessings are ours and come from God. But if we don’t cry out and depend on Him, we are like the living dead, who don’t go anywhere.

The story is told of the man with an expensive gold watch. Everyone looked at his hand and asked, “What time is it?”

“I don’t know,” he would reply. “Look for yourself.” He said this because although he had bought the expensive watch, he’d never bothered to learn how to read the time.

But you and I know the time we live in—and we know there’s a God who wants to take us home with Him when He comes. We must let God work with us and live as the Apostle Paul did when he wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20.

We know God will give us whatever we ask in faith, and we must make time to learn about Him. Even if we can’t read, we must look for someone who will take us to Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, someone who will read Matthew 24 to us, or even Matthew 27. Someone who will show us what God has written for us in the Bible.

David wasn’t perfect, but he wrote, “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.” Psalm 51:1–3. We sin with our eyes, our thoughts, our mouths, our hands, our feet, our stomachs—with everything He gives us. Everything is His, and one day He will hold us accountable for that. But if we believe in God, the doors will open for us. And when the grave closes around us, it will be sealed with a blessing and with hope. When we go with hope, you can cry out, “Everything I have belongs to the Lord!”

Don’t give Him the crumbs of your life. Give all of yourself to Him now, while you are healthy, telling Him, “Lord, I thank you for receiving me, just as I am. You give me the breath of life.”

David wrote in Psalm 103:1–6, “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.”

If God is the One who forgives all our iniquities, heals all our ailments, rescues us from the pit, crowns us with favors and mercies, satisfies our mouth with good so we rejuvenate like the eagle, and pities us like children, how come we only give Him a little time out of our lives?

I have a suggestion. Find a pencil and a notebook and write, “I believe God,” many times until your notebook is filled. Then repeat it tomorrow and the next day until it becomes a reality in your life. With repetition, we learn. May you believe God.
