Dear Father, The angel, in response to Daniel’s prayers, said, “From the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. However, the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days… Now I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come.” This chapter mentions the actual names of countries of the world and the demonic, angelic forces that preside over them. This reveals that earthly nations have a spiritual dimension operating behind them. Moreover, the prince of Persia was the reason the answer to Daniel’s prayer was delayed for twenty-one days. We would be unaware the spiritual warfare that is waged on our behalf if You do not reveal it to us. This validates the passage that says, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places.” After this revelation, would it not be unwise to live without spiritual backing, or to live as though life begins and ends in the physical realm? Even Your angels engage in warfare on our behalf, yet we live as though we were born entirely free of battles. Who knows how many requests are held at the mercy of spiritual warfare.
