QUIET TIME PRAYER

"Focus of the Week: Deteriorating Conditions in our World Today" - Hope Beyond the Darkness: God’s Kingdom Is Coming.

17 Jan. 2026

Eternal and Faithful God, Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (Rev. 22:13), I lift my eyes beyond the shadows of our present world and fix my gaze upon You.

Around us, the signs of deterioration are many: nations shaken, hearts weary, creation groaning, truth distorted, love growing cold.

Yet even in the darkness, You whisper hope, and Your promises shine like stars in a night sky.

Your Word encourages me: “When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28).

O Lord, teach me to lift my head when everything around us tempts us to bow in despair.

Time and again, when Your people stood at the edge of impossibility, You spoke a word of promise that opened a way.

Today, we humans stand at our own Red Seas—global uncertainty, moral confusion, suffering that seems endless. Yet You remain the God who makes a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). Strengthen my faith to trust Your future when the present feels overwhelming.

Holy Spirit, Spirit of Hope, help me to live between promise and fulfillment. When the kingdom seems delayed, keep me faithful. When evil appears strong, remind me that it is not final. For “the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

Fill me with the hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). Let hope rise within me like dawn after a long night—quiet at first, yet unstoppable. Train my eyes to see signs of Your kingdom already at work: acts of kindness in cruel places, justice breaking through corruption, forgiveness blooming where hatred once ruled.

God of the Present and the Future, keep me from escaping the world in false hope or surrendering to it in despair. Teach me to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10), and to live as a citizen of that coming kingdom even now (Philippians 3:20).

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the King who came, the King who is coming again, and the King whose kingdom will never end.
AMEN!!
