Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Last night I watched a show where one of the primary characters was certain that they were on the right path. They were diligent in their studies. They were laser-focused on each detail and aspect of the road that they were on. On many occasions, they were labeled the best of their class. The frontrunner to booming success in their field. They were absolute genius and a natural for this path that they were on. Until … until the day that they realized that they had not lived life. Until the day that their eyes were opened to the varieties of fresh air outside this chosen path. Until they saw that there may be something else for them and that they did not have to stay on this course. Knowing that if they wanted to come back, the door would be open since they had already proven themselves, but they were not stuck on this path.

Have you ever had a job or mission to be the definite best at what you were doing? The day you decided that this was the lane you were going to drive in, and you found motivation in maintaining your skill to a level just shy of perfection. No one was ever harder on you than you were yourself. You studied. You sought out all the information there was. You watched others. You worked hard to be the best. The best that you could be, and in some regard … you accomplished just that. Success has been achieved.

Now … you are on top of your game, and the lanes for other directions have opened up. Directions that you have never even contemplated. Paths that are scary and unknown. An abyss of new territory.

Though the show that I was watching did not delve into the exact path that this character was going to follow, it did raise some interesting highlights in my own life. One, never did I think I would be a writer. Never did I think anyone would value my opinion. Never did I think that I would seek out a new profession. (I like what I do now, I am good at what I do now, I make a good wage at what I do now … why would I look elsewhere?) However, my path, the path that lies before me now, and is coming quickly, is a path that is extremely unknown and most definitely filled with pitfalls and obstacles that I will not see until I am solidly on the road in that direction. You know what the funny part of this is? I am actually excited to see what other accomplishments or journeys there are for me. Excited might be a strong word … Curious might be a better one.

I never expected to be an influencer of any kind other than my children. To set the right example. To raise them to be responsible and kind. To love my husband til death do us part. That was the only way I saw myself. A normal person. Yet God has placed me in a place where I touch people every day.

Today as you go to His house and praise his name, ask him to show you which lane you are in, which lane you are supposed to be in, and if there is a lane change ahead of you. Then, give thanks to Him for his leading and follow his guidance. The outcome will probably surprise you as much as my multiple lane changes have surprised me. Remember, He has already been there, done that, and has the t-shirt. You can do this.

Be blessed.
