A Master Plan – Why We’re Strong
A piece of steel
If it is real
Goes thru many things

First in fire
An inferno pyre
Heated to molten red
When it gets hotter
It’s plunged into water
The heat to dissipate
The steam is released
From out of the piece
…but it’s not finished yet…

It’s heated again
Then beaten quite thin
It’s beginning to take its shape
Then H2O
It’s not just for show
…It’s needed for tempering’s sake

Over….and over
….and over again
Heating…
…and beating…
…ceaseless repeating…
Then finally sweet relief

When the dross
Has been burned out
And the strength is beaten in
It’s plunged into
The refreshing pool
For one more contraction

Now it’s filed
The shavings piled
To make the edges smooth
It takes a while
But the blacksmith smiles
It turning out quite good

Then when it’s done
The work’s begun
Because it is a tool
In the hand of a master
It can’t be done faster
He knows just what to do
