Worship in the Moment
Scripture
“And it came to pass, when Abraham’s servant heard their words, that he worshiped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth.”
Genesis 24:52 (NKJV)
“Pause and Worship”
Genesis 24 is the incredible story of how God leads Abraham’s servant to the exact woman—Rebekah—who would become Isaac’s wife. The servant had prayed specifically for guidance, and God answered his prayer precisely and swiftly.
Then, in verse 52, as the final agreement is made with Rebekah’s family, we see something powerful:
He worshiped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth.
He didn’t rush ahead to finish the task. He didn’t get caught up in the logistics or details. He stopped—and worshiped.
This moment teaches us a vital truth:
Answered prayer should lead us to immediate worship.
Sometimes we get so busy celebrating the result that we forget the One who gave the answer. But true faith pauses—right in the middle of the moment—to honor God.
Reflection Questions
1. How do I respond when God answers my prayers?
2. Do I pause often enough to worship—not just for what God gives, but for who He is?
3. How can I build a habit of gratitude and worship into my daily life?
Prayer
Lord God, You are worthy of my worship—not just for what You do, but for who You are. Forgive me for the times I’ve rushed past Your blessings without pausing to thank You. Teach me to stop, bow down, and worship You in every answered prayer, every open door, and every act of Your kindness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
