Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Train Wreck. That is what best describes yesterday at work. Train Wreck. We had more mail, it felt like, than we did all through peak season. Add to that a call off of borrowed help. Train wreck. Haha.

In order to make the day work, I had to ask a neighboring supervisor to come help ‘carry’ the mail for the route for which I had a call off. They took one half of the Aux route, and I took the heavier part of the Aux route. Together, we were able to accomplish what seemed impossible in the morning.

I had made it to the last third of the route when I made a bad physics call. I tried to move my large mass through a sliver of space while trying to carry four packages. I thought I was going to make it, when the heel of my boot stuck on the lip of the mail truck, and down I went. That would have been the earthquake everyone in Fountain County would have felt. At least a 5 on the Richter scale. The saddest part is that I did not bounce. I so wanted to know if all this fluff bounced. It did not. Needless to say, I moved a lot slower than I was moving. Haha.

Naturally, today I woke up extremely stiff and sore. Apparently, I hit or jarred parts of my body that I did not know about in the moment. For example, I fell primarily on my right side, however my left thumb is very sore. The only thing my left hand did, other than assist in dropping the packages, is push my big behind back up off the ground. So the mystery is of my thumb is afoot.

I tell you this little story to remind you of one thing. If you are achy, or stiff, or downright sore … you are alive. God has not finished his mission in you, and you have another day to serve. To be a planter. To be a waterer. To be a light to someone who is in the dark. He has given you another day. Do not let the enemy steal this from you. Make fun of the pain and use it to help someone else find joy when the suffering is so real. Something to think about.

Be blessed.
