Don’t Give up - Get Up
Many people suffer from depression, and that includes Christians. Sadly, fellow brothers and sisters can be quite judgmental, l which only causes more suffering. No one but God can know the pain another person is going through, and although doctors can prescribe medicines to help, that is not enough. Leaning on Jesus to get through the dark days is critical to recovery. If you are suffering from depression, go to Jesus for help. The more time you spend in prayer and study of His Word, the better you will feel. Sometimes depression causes you to feel inadequate to spend time in God’s presence, so you back away - but when Jesus died on Calvary - He made you worthy to come to Him - any time of the day or night . . . you have full access to the most powerful Physician in the World - God! When you are sinking in the quicksand of depression, and approaching God’s throne room seems impossible - don’t “give up”... “get up,” and run to Jesus! He will welcome you with His outstretched arms of love and hold you close! The Bible says in Deuteronomy 31:8, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” There is an answer for depression . . . and it is - Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior, the only Healer of Hearts! Text: Psalm 34:17, Psalm 40:1-3, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Isaiah 41:10
