Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
I was on the fence about joining another writing challenge that spanned over 90 days. The last two challenges actually produced completed books; however, right now is a very busy time, and I am not sure where I will find the time to actually sit down and compose the story. I have learned that if He wants a story written, He provides me the time and energy to do so. My guess is that a new book is on the horizon, and it will happen when the 90-day challenge kicks off.
Today is a very cold day here. It is a whopping 1-degree Fahrenheit with the feel of a lot colder … just saying. I am honored to do another route inspection today. So I will be walking a route with a carrier while learning the direction the route goes and the amount of mail that is delivered. I did pick one of the small routes today … and just thinking about it … I just realized that one of the towns we deliver to will be completed today … haha. Did not plan that, but it works. A silly, small victory for the home team.
Yesterday we window shopped for new equipment to make my writing journey a smoother development. I was fairly clear on the pricing for the new equipment, but my husband was a bit sticker-shocked. The good news is that once we make the investment, the equipment will more than pay for itself in the first two months.
The closer that I get to my retirement date, the more I can feel a release of stress from the balancing act that I have had to perform in managing the doctors and work schedules. The peace that surrounds me is phenomenal. The thought of not having to go out in weather like this today is enough of a reason for me.
In just the little bit that I have shared this morning, I can see God’s handiwork well in play. I can see my doubts and concerns pop up every so often and how the enemy has tried to manipulate my choices. I can see, with certainty, the blessing … and the trials … that lay before me … and I accept with pure joy the new journey.
When you fully accept Him. Invite Him in, pour Him coffee, offer Him a snack, kick your feet up and converse with Him on a daily basis … When you do that … your perspective on everything changes. I know that the road ahead of me is not paved with rainbows and unicorns, but demons and trials … yet I am happy and at peace because I am blessed, because I was called for this journey. I know that the last few months with my job will be interesting, and who knows what kind of curveballs will be thrown, but I am at peace and know that I am blessed. Few can retire early who are not over-the-top wealthy. I assure you that is not my case. I am not financially rich, but I am wealthy in the presence of my God. When there is a complete connection, the trials are more like gnats buzzing in front of your face, rather than actual issues. You get annoyed but not dismayed. It is a great feeling.
My little trials with my writing journey don't even merit a gnat's status; those are just self-imposed things to think about and drive myself crazy. When I get too much into it, He comes along and tells me to be quiet. But I think sometimes he might be shaking his head at me and wondering, “Why is she there again? We just fixed this”. Kind of like us looking at our kids when they cannot let something go.
As the world turns itself inside out, I encourage you to make that connection with Him. Embrace His ways. Lean on His understanding. Walk in His peace. It makes for a so much better journey. Knowing that He has already been there, and this is where you are meant to be.
Be blessed today.
**Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. – Psalm 111:2
