Never STOP GIVING

We find in scripture that Judah had 3 sons. They were Er, Onan, and Shelah. Scripture also lets us know that Er was married to Tamar, but "the Lord slew him for he did wickedly", before he ever had a child. So, according to the spirit of the law, which was that if a man died and he had no son to be his heir, receive his inheritance, and keep his name going, then his brother was to take his widow and have a child by her. Knowing this, Judah then gave his second son to Tamar, Onan, in obedience to the spirit of the law and which was the right thing to do. However, he did something very self serving and "the Lord slew him as well". So, here is Judah. He did right and gave his first son to Tamar, but he died. He did right again and gave his second son to Tamar, but once again he died. So 2 out of 3 sons he gave to Tamar ended up dead. Now, it was time to give his last son, or HIS ONLY SON, to continue to do what was right. However, Judah just couldn't do it! No doubt, the thoughts going through his mind was "what if Tamar is killing them?", or "what if I give this last son and he dies as well?". In other words, Judah didn't mind giving, pouring out, doing what was right, or living according to the Word of God. However, this son was his last son. He had no more to give if something happened to Shelah. Friend, we have all been there. I know I have. We have given, poured into others, sacrificed for others, and endeavored to obey the Word of God towards others only to be burned, rejected, despised, hurt, and made to feel real loss. It is in these moments of life and ministry we just want to close up and say, "forget this, I am not giving out anymore!". However, we cannot allow ourselves to come to such a place. We must rise up, open up, and give out our Shelah's, our last, and our only's. We must not allow the hurtful losses, and I can assure you that we will feel them, to cause us to quit giving. So, if you are there today, and I know many of you are, I encourage you to give again. Keep being open, pouring out, and giving out. I know the temptation is to pull back that hand but keep on keeping it open. Why? Because life is not worth living closed off, shut up, and in disobedience. Matter of fact, divine life cant keep flowing through us if we stop giving because of hurt, fear, or being burned just too many times.

Friend, rather its your marriage, a friendship, or ministry dont hold back your "only". Keep giving out and just watch the move of God and Christ be manifested in and through your life and ministry.
