THE ADVENT TRUTH
Most debates about the Sabbath skip the most important question: What did JESUS do?
Because before tradition… before opinions… before Sunday laws or man-made arguments… you and I are called to follow Him.

And Scripture is crystal clear:

“As His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day.” — Luke 4:16
Not once. Not randomly.
As His custom.
A custom is a habit. A pattern. A lifestyle.

Jesus didn’t come to erase the Sabbath.
He came to restore it.
He healed on the Sabbath.
He taught on the Sabbath.
He rebuked the Pharisees for turning it into a burden.
And He declared Himself “Lord of the Sabbath.”
You can’t be “Lord” of something you plan to abolish.

And the greatest proof?
Even in death, Jesus rested in the tomb on the Sabbath, just as He rested after Creation.
Then rose the day after the Sabbath—not to create a new holy day, but to fulfill prophecy.

The early church continued the same example (Acts 13, Acts 17, Acts 18).
Not one verse says the Sabbath changed.
Not one verse says Jesus kept Sunday.
Not one verse says His followers were released from His commandments.

So if we claim to follow Christ…
Shouldn’t we follow His example?
Shouldn’t we walk where He walked?
Shouldn’t we honor what He honored?

The Sabbath isn’t about legalism.
It’s about relationship.
It’s the weekly reminder that God is our Creator, our Redeemer, our Rest… and our King.

Jesus kept the Sabbath.
And His followers still do.
