Bahawalpur ( ) Zahid Morris, son of Morris Masih, was set on fire after petrol was poured on his face in an attempt to kill him.
According to details, on 21 January 2026 at around 11:30 a.m., near Brick Kiln No. 2, Bahawalpur, the victim was returning to his home when a local man, Ali Azhar, son of Juma, over a previous minor verbal dispute, poured petrol on his face and set him on fire.
Due to timely action by the police, a case was registered and the accused was arrested. The District Police Officer (DPO) Bahawalpur and the Cantonment Police Station Bahawalpur assured the injured person of justice.
Zahid Morris has demanded from the District Police Officer Bahawalpur and the SHO of Cantonment Police Station Bahawalpur that charges including attempted murder by burning alive with petrol, as well as terrorism provisions, be added to the case.
