Dear Father,
You spoke to Abraham when he was childless and told him, “...Thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them 400 years. And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge; and afterward shall they come out with great substance.”
I am interested, not so much in the length of time You said they’d be slaves, but in the fact that You already had a 400-year plan in existence. Now, we don’t live as long as 400 years, this implies that You have a plan for all the years of a man’s life long before he is born.
Sincerely, there are times I have dreams where You reveal something to me that happens a few weeks or months later, and I find myself wondering, how did You even know that? I think I struggle with these thoughts because I try to wrap my mind around how You know tomorrow, but that’s not an intelligence I can operate. You are God!
Look how busy we get with our lives that we sometimes forget to include You in our plans. How absurd is that? To forget to include the One who holds the entire map when we are trying to guess a sketch? It’s really not “over-spirituality” to commit everything into Your hands; it is foolishness not to.
