It Was Very Good

Have you ever finished a meal at a restaurant, and you said to your wife, "That meal was very good?" That's how Yahweh saw creation after it was completed. He saw it was very good. He said about days 1-5 that it was good. But once he stepped back and saw his completed creation, he saw that it was very good.

This is like Leonardo da Vinci painting a picture. He might look at the picture as he's painting and step back and say, "That’s good." But then when he completes the whole painting, he might say it is "very good." This is how YHWH saw his creation, after day six. He saw it as very good, a masterpiece if you want to say it like that.

Another example would be when a potter is making a beautiful vase. It might have flaws in that vase as he's doing it. He redoes it, and when he's completed, he says it is very good.

This is how YHWH sees us when we're in sin: He sees us as good. But when we make heaven our home, he's going to see us as his completed masterpiece. He's going to see us as, "Very good."
