Don’t Forget Me

Scripture

“But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.”
Genesis 40:14 (NKJV)

God Hasn’t Forgotten You

Joseph, wrongly imprisoned, interprets the dreams of Pharaoh’s cupbearer and baker. To the cupbearer, he gives a favorable interpretation and then pleads:

“Remember me… get me out of this house.”

Even the most faithful servants of God have moments when they long for relief, justice, and freedom. This verse reminds us of Joseph’s humanity—he trusted God, but he also felt the weight of his circumstances.

Sometimes, like Joseph, we’re in seasons where we’ve done the right thing, yet the wrong things seem to be happening to us. We pray for release, for breakthrough, for someone to “remember” us. And yet, the cupbearer would forget Joseph for two more years (Genesis 41:1).

But here’s the good news: even when people forget you, God never does.
In His perfect timing, Joseph was not just freed—he was promoted to second-in-command over all Egypt.

This verse challenges us to:

Be honest with God about our struggles.

Keep serving faithfully even when the breakthrough is delayed.

Trust that God’s memory is perfect and His timing flawless.

Reflection Questions

1. Have I ever felt forgotten in a difficult season?

2. Do I believe that God’s timing is better than my own?

3. How can I remain faithful while I wait for God’s “release” in my life?

Prayer

Faithful God, thank You that You never forget me. Even when others overlook me, Your eyes are always on me. Help me to trust Your timing and remain faithful in my current season. Give me hope when the wait feels long, and remind me that You have not abandoned me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
