Freedom from Our Prison
It's amazing when you think about it. There are 1.9 million prisoners incarcerated in the United States as of 2026, but that isn't what this study is going to focus on today.
Today, this study is going to focus on those who are not captive behind bars, but those who are captive in their minds and by Satan.
Right now, there are millions upon millions of people who are prisoners and don't even realize it. These people are prisoners in their mind. How, you would you ask, are they imprisoned in their mind? There are many ways to be imprisoned in our mind: oppression, depression, suicidal thoughts, drugs, alcohol and many others. These are some ways that Satan keeps us prisoners in our mind. Satan does not want us to be free, but he wants to keep us captives to him. The more we're in Satan's grip, the less we are in YHWH's arms. The more we're in Satan's prison, the less we can look at the one who wants to save our souls and set us free.
Let's see what the scriptures say in John chapter 8, verse 36.
John 8:36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Let's also read what it says in Romans chapter 8, verse 2.
Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life and Messiah hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Here are some other scriptures to look at…
Mark 2:17 - When Messiah heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 19:10 - For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
1 Timothy 1:15 - This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that YHWH Messiah came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
So, we see in the previous scriptures that YHWH came so that we could be set free. Set free from that prison of sin and death. Because that's all it is, is sin and death. Now some people like to be in their prison, they like their sin. But I'm thankful that YHWH came to die to set me free from the prison that I was in.
Let me close this study with this thought: He came to live just to die, so that when we die, we can live with Him.
YHWH Bless
