“Bold Without Arrogance”
(The Crown of Righteousness)

“The righteous are as bold as a lion.”
— Proverbs 28:1
“Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another.”
— 1 Peter 5:5

There is a kind of boldness that pushes people away.
And there is a kind that makes people feel safe.
Arrogance announces itself.
Righteous boldness simply stands.
A lion does not need to prove dominance by constant aggression. In fact, the strongest animals are often the calmest. They move with awareness, not insecurity. They do not confuse volume with authority.
Jesus was the boldest man who ever lived—and the gentlest.
He confronted injustice without cruelty.
He spoke truth without humiliation.
He carried authority without needing control.
Righteousness, when mature, learns restraint.
The crown of righteousness is not worn by those who win arguments—but by those who remain steady in truth without wounding others. Boldness anchored in humility does not shrink back, nor does it trample.
It stands firm—and leaves room for grace.

Do I confuse boldness with being right?
Where might I be using volume instead of authority?
What would it look like to stand firm and gentle today?

Jesus,
Teach me strength without harshness.
Give me courage that is clothed in humility.
Let my boldness reflect Your heart,
not my insecurity.
