And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed - Genesis 32:28

Genesis 32:24–30 (KJV)

Thought Of The Day...
Jacob was not looking for a fight—he was preparing to face his past. Yet it was in the quiet of the night, when he was left alone, that God met him in a way he never expected. What began as a struggle became a sacred encounter.
God did not wrestle Jacob to defeat him, but to transform him. Jacob had spent his life striving—manipulating outcomes, grasping blessings, and depending on his own strength. In this moment, God touched the very place Jacob trusted most and weakened him just enough to bring him to surrender.
Still, Jacob refused to let go. With a dislocated hip and a weary body, he clung to God and declared, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” That persistence marked a turning point. God did not merely bless Jacob—He changed his name, his identity, and his future.
Jacob left that place with a limp, but he also left with purpose. He named the place Peniel, saying, “I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” The struggle didn’t destroy him; it revealed God and preserved his life.

Something to Think About...
Some seasons feel like wrestling matches because God is not trying to remove something from you—He is trying to remove something in you. When God brings you to a place of weakness, it is often because He is preparing you to walk in greater dependence on Him.
A true encounter with God will always leave a mark—not to shame you, but to remind you that the victory came from His hand, not yours.

Prayer...
Father God, Thank You for meeting me in the quiet places of my life. When I feel weak, remind me that You are at work. Help me to hold on to You, even when the struggle is painful. Change what needs to be changed in me, and give me the grace to walk forward in surrender and faith. I refuse to let go without Your blessing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration...
I declare that I will not run from the process God is using to change me.
I will hold on until transformation comes.
I may walk with a limp, but I will walk with purpose.
I am no longer defined by my past—I am defined by my encounter with God.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
