Understanding the Rule Book: Whenever playing a new game, it’s necessary to read the Rule Book in order to know just how to play the game. If you don’t know the rules, your chances of a successful outcome are pretty slim. This journey of life is a difficult one, but fortunately, God wrote the “Rule Book” setting the guidelines for a joy-filled, meaningful life. When you read God’s Holy Word, you learn what dangers to avoid, how to make good choices and avoid disaster. But even more important, you learn how to live a life that leads to eternal life with your Lord and Savior. Without God’s Rule Book, you would never know right from wrong, or how to avoid the things that hurt yourself or endanger others. God’s Word has the answer for every situation. If you’re confused, the Bible brings clarity. When you’re brokenhearted, His words bring comfort and when you don’t know which way to turn, the Holy Scriptures provide wisdom and discernment. Understanding God’s Rule Book requires prayerfully spending time pondering and digesting each word, and when you do, you’ll become more balanced, enlightened, strengthened, and walk with new purpose because the Bible is God’s guiding light, and nourishment for your soul. Text: Proverbs 3:6, Psalm 32:8, Psalm 119:11, John 14:14, Philippians 4:19
