Sermon: "The Power of Forgiveness"

Scripture: Matthew 18:21-35 (The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant)

Message

Forgiveness is a powerful tool that can bring healing, restoration, and freedom. Jesus teaches us that forgiveness is not just a feeling, but a choice. When we choose to forgive, we open ourselves up to God's healing and mercy.

In the parable, the servant is forgiven a massive debt, yet he refuses to forgive a fellow servant who owes him a small amount. This story highlights the importance of forgiving others as we've been forgiven.

Key Points

1. Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling.
2. When we forgive, we reflect God's character.
3. Forgiveness doesn't erase the hurt, but it releases the hold it has on us.

Application

- Reflect on areas where you need to forgive.
- Choose to release the hurt and bitterness.
- Pray for God's strength to forgive as you've been forgiven.

Closing Prayer: Ask God to help you forgive as you've been forgiven, and to reflect His love and mercy to those around you.
