DAY 7
“Laying Down the Crown”
(The Crown of Righteousness)
“The twenty-four elders fall down before Him… and lay their crowns before the throne.”
— Revelation 4:10
“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your name give glory.”
— Psalm 115:1
The crown was never the goal.
It was never meant to sit on your head.
It was meant to pass through your hands.
Righteousness gives you boldness.
Boldness gives you standing.
Standing gives you authority.
But authority, when fully formed, always knows when to kneel.
In heaven, no one clings to crowns.
No one compares rewards.
No one measures worth.
They lay everything down—not out of obligation, but because worship finally makes sense.
The lion does not lose its strength when it bows.
It completes it.
The crown of righteousness is not proof of your greatness.
It is evidence of His grace working through a willing life.
And when it’s finally laid down, there is no loss—
only joy.
Reflection Questions
What has God entrusted me with that I must not cling to?
Do I see righteousness as something to display—or something to return?
What does surrender look like at the height of maturity?
Prayer
Jesus,
Everything I have came from You.
Every victory, every step of obedience,
every moment of standing.
I lay it all at Your feet—
not because I must,
but because You are worthy.
Amen.
