Seahawks coaches and chaplain emphasize the central role of Christian faith as the team heads into Super Bowl LX. Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak said, “our identity is in Christ,” explaining that football is just what he does, but being a good father and faithful husband is far more important.
He gave every player a Bible for Christmas, saying, “What better gift than that?” Head coach Mike MacDonald described faith as his source of strength: “That’s your guiding light every day,” adding he hopes the players will also “seek their faith” and grow spiritually.
Chaplain Jonathan Rainey ministers to the entire team, calling himself “a walking foot washer” whose role is “to point you to Jesus.” He highlighted the locker room’s “rich, deep, and vibrant” faith and urged prayers for the players: “When we take a stand for Christ, Satan is going to attack…pray for these men.”
Rainey emphasized that true healing, restoration, and guidance come from Christ, “He is our true north. He is our North Star.”
