Holy Spirit Fruit.

What is the Holy Spirit? Should He be hard to understand? Should He not be what Jesus already told us? Why must people find their own definition, their own meaning of the Holy Spirit? Many Christians, and even religious leaders, seem to have no knowledge about the real reason for the Holy Spirit, who He is, or why He’s even here. Some don’t even believe in the Holy Spirit.

But did not Jesus predict that would happen? Yes! John 14:17 mentions “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.” The Holy Spirit inspires and puts in our hearts what to say and even how to think, spiritually. He always reminds us and takes us back to the Word of God.

It is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict and God’s job to judge. Our job is to love and never worry, for He has been here since the beginning of time. Let’s take a look at Genesis 1:2: “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Here we see that the Holy Spirit has been around before anything was even created.

The Bible also says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23–24.

The Holy Spirit is our encouragement in times of loneliness, sadness, and those times when we just don’t know who to turn to. The Lord God wants us to rest in the peace of the Holy Spirit, who will be with us until the end. John 14:16 says, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.”

John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” So whatever we’re going through in life, we can think about the Lord and rest in the hope of the Holy Spirit—our Living Water, Comforter, and Counselor “who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4.

As long as we have the Holy Spirit in our life, there’s always life—if we keep our eyes on Jesus. Ezekiel 37:14 says, “‘I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,’ says the Lord.” He is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding who enlightens the children of God and helps open our minds to perceive the mysteries of the Universe in relation to eternity. He is the Spirit of right judgment and encouragement who guides us to follow Jesus.

Jude 20–21 says, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” The Holy Spirit, with His way of love, is the Spirit of knowledge and reference that helps us see the lasting value of God. He sparks our faith to hope in new ways each day, and fills our lives with wonder and awe with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 7:16–17 says, “They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
