Doreen Virtue:
Wicca and witchcraft are heavily invested in invoking goddesses for manifestations. This is partially because they reject anything patriarchal, including Christianity. So they worship “the divine feminine“ instead.
Yet, goddess invocations and worship lead to spiritual bondage. Even though it seems like the goddesses are helping them to gain power and provision, it’s an illusion. Those things that they manifest through the goddesses leave as quickly as they arrive. And they never give a lasting sense of peace or joy.
Maybe you’ve been hurt by men. Or hurt in churches. And so you run to female deities.
It’s that desire to control, predict and manifest. You want to take charge and leave nothing to chance. You want to be powerful and make things happen. It’s a slippery slope to Wicca and witchcraft from this desire.
I’m not an armchair philosopher on this topic. I worshipped goddesses, and even regrettably wrote books and cards encouraging others to worship them. I visited goddess temples and ancient goddess sites. Praise God for saving me out of that dark emptiness and now I warn others. I’m sorry that I wrote about goddesses, and pray that others would stop selling and using my old heretical work.
Goddesses are demons in disguise. None of them died for our sins. None of them solved the sin problem. Only our Lord and Savior Jesus was sinless and willing to suffer and go to the cross for us. Only Jesus rose bodily from the grave. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Please turn to Him today.
May we rest in Christ and turn to God for strength and provision, instead of trying to conjure up our own power or manifestations. May we trust in the Lord and His will, His way, and His timing.
