Attitude Adjustment.

Even the most positive person will have a day now and then when they wake up, and nothing seems to go “quite right.” Perhaps something trivial sent their day spiraling downward, such as stepping on a child’s toy while getting out of bed, burning the toast for breakfast, or being late for an appointment because they forgot their cell phone and had to race back home to get it. None of those scenarios are life-threatening events, but they can easily start your day off in a funk. It is then that you need to send an SOS to heaven for an “attitude adjustment,” for without it, not only will your whole day go wrong, but chances are that you’ll cause others to have a bad day too! The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:14-15, “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” The good news is that God loves you even when you’re grumpy. He will give you what you need to “shine for Him like the stars.” He is only a prayer away, so cling to Him for strength and guidance. Isaiah 55:12 says, “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” On those days when you’re tempted to stand under your own personal dark cloud of grumpiness, ask God to give you an attitude adjustment and fill your heart with His joy, so you can step out of the darkness and into the sunshine of His love. Text: James 5:9, Psalm 50:15, Psalm 34:18, Nahum 1:7
