Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Yesterday’s drive was beautiful and peaceful. We stopped at a couple of antique shops and walked down memory lane. I cannot count the number of times that I desired my grandmother to be with me to tell me what something was. I know that I had seen it in her house, but I was just a kid, so old stuff did not interest me then. Now that I am old, all of it does.

One of the many things that is weird about me is that I am not a fan of reading. If a book does not catch my attention immediately and draws me in to see the plot, I will set it down. I have many books that I knew I would finish only for them to become oversized dust bunnies. However, I do have an innate love for writing. I was looking at some help guides to educated and hone my skill, one of the first things this list had to do to help a writer … read what you like to write for inspiration. I laughed, but then thought … you write about the positivity, the faith, the strength, the power, and the love of God. You already read what inspires you.

Another thing that I have found is that reading words in books is what that teacher meant, however, I also read the world. On the drive yesterday I counted at least fifteen deer stands in what I would consider odd and shot restrictive places. They were near the highway. For a northern state, where snow is imminent, the roads were not very well taken care of. Though the sun was high in the sky, it seemed gloomy. People, they are the most interesting to read. On three different occasions, I entered the door someone was exiting, their expression was dismay or business like, and when I greeted them with s dumb quip, their aura changed instantly. Almost like, ‘someone saw me’.

What kind of Christian do you want to be? I want to be the one that Christ says, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” In order to get to that level in my Christian craft, I must read what I desire to be. Greet people for no other reason to greet them. Generate a conversation of joy and silliness. Acknowledge their existence when others walk on by. It is amazing at what a difference a little contact with a complete stranger can do. For the record, no one is off my radar for silliness and cutesy conversation about whose turn it was to pay the heat bill because it is too cold outside. Or how Mother Nature needs back on her meds because these menopausal mood swings are not nice.

Be blessed…and bless someone today with silliness.

***For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. – Matthew 25:35
