Chapter 50 Second Angel’s Message

We have seen that the First Angel’s Message has relevance in the first part of the 3.5 years when the first four Trumpets sound (chapter 19). The first four Trumpets are natural disasters in quick succession. The frequency of these disasters is such that mankind realises these occurrences are too frequent to be natural, and that God is vying for their attention. There are forces that want to convince man that he needs to worship to appease God, but the 144 000 proclaim the First Angel’s Message, calling everyone to true worship of the Creator God.

The fifth Trumpet has Satan liberated, and he creates an apparition of Christ that tells mankind to worship God via Catholicism and Apostate Protestantism. This sets the stage for the proclamation of the Second Angel’s Message:

Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

The unification of church and state like it was in Medieval times, and the coercion of worship, is what brings Babylon to the point where she has fallen. The liberty of man will be removed and people will find themselves in a police state as it was in the Bolshevik Republic. The enforced religion is not the worship of the True Creator-God, but the gods of Ancient Babylon in a Christian garb. This coercion of the worship of the false Trinity god is what is meant by the wine of her fornication. God’s prerogative in worship has been misplaced by legislation to a system of heathen worship. The whole World is under the rule of Satan, and he hates liberty because he is a dictator.

It is again the 144 000 that proclaim this, the Second Angel’s Message. Rev 18 elaborates on this Message:

1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

The 144 000 are conveying a strong message to the World, warning them about the false and coerced system of worship. Satan and his angels have been set free under the fifth Trumpet and they are the motivating power in globalisation, setting up the Jesuits and the Catholic church to rule the World. The Church, Babylon, is infiltrated and completely controlled by the devil, hence the message of it having become the habitation of devils, every foul spirit and hateful bird.

The nations on Earth submit their jurisdiction to the Papacy. They accept her religion. International trade flourishes under the global system and the rich become richer.

Adventists believe the second Angel’s Message was preached in the 1840’s during the expectation of Christ’s Second Advent in 1844. People came out of Catholicism and Apostate Protestantism embracing Adventism. However, Adventist scholars today recognise a future application for the Three Angel’s Messages. They recognise that these messages are proclaimed during the time of the setting up of the Beast of Rev 13 which is the New World Order. Adventists used to believe that the Loud Cry of Revelation 18 is a fourth Angel repeating the second and third Angels’ Messages at the end of time. Today they recognise the angel of Rev 18 to be the same as the angels of Rev 14.

It makes sense for the 144 000 to preach the second Angel’s Message during the fifth Trumpet. While God is gradually withdrawing His Spirit from the Earth, most people have settled into their choice of who their God is. This message and the severity of the locust plague is God’s call to people who still have not made up their minds, or whose minds can still be changed. God does not damn anyone without a desperate effort to save them, but the events on Earth are being drawn to a close, and decisions need to be finalised before Probation Closes. Because of His love, God does everything He can to save every person, but the choice to be saved remains with us. In contrast to Satan, God does not coerce worship.
