The Sabbath Will Be Kept in the New Earth
Isaiah 66:22,23 - For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
God has given us the whole of six days in which to do our work, and has reserved only one to Himself. This should be a day of blessing to us—a day when we should lay aside all our secular matters and center our thoughts upon God and heaven. 8 . CG 529.2
The Sabbath did not begin at Sinai—it began at Creation. God set it apart as a weekly reminder of His creative power, His redeeming grace, and His promise to restore all things. Isaiah shows that in the new earth, when sin and suffering are gone, God’s people will still gather from one Sabbath to another to worship Him. This reveals that the Sabbath is not temporary or ceremonial, but eternal—linking Creation, Redemption, and final Restoration in God’s perfect plan.
