Father God, We come before You this Monday morning humbled by the powerful Word we received on Sunday — Redeeming the Time in Our Marriage by Resolving Conflict. Lord, You reminded us through Gospel of Matthew 5:23–24 that reconciliation matters to You. Worship without unity is incomplete. Praise without peace is unfinished. So today, we choose obedience.
Lord, teach us how to redeem the time in our marriage.
Your Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. Help us remember our Christ connection. The old ways of pride, stubbornness, silence, and bitterness are gone. We are new in You. According to Galatians 2:20, we are crucified with Christ — so let selfishness die and let Your Spirit live through us.
Father, remind us that we are a team. Your Word in Ephesians 5:31 declares that two shall become one flesh. When one hurts, we both hurt. When one wins, we both win. Help us walk in agreement as taught in Amos 3:3 and strengthen our union like the threefold cord in Ecclesiastes 4:12.
Lord, give us grace to die to self. Your Son taught in Gospel of Luke 9:23 that we must deny ourselves daily. When conflict arises, help us crucify pride before it crucifies our peace.
Teach us to focus on what is good. As written in Philippians 4:8, help us think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, and lovely. When the enemy tries to magnify flaws, help us magnify gratitude.
Father, we bring our anger before You. Your Word in James 1:19 instructs us to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. According to Ephesians 4:26 let us not allow the sun to go down on our anger. Guard our mouths, because Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
Lord, teach us to watch our words and tone. Let our speech heal, not harm. Build, not break.
And Father, we choose forgiveness. As declared in Colossians 3:13, just as Christ forgave us, we forgive one another. We will not rehearse old wounds. We release them. We let them go.
Today we redeem the time.
Where there has been prolonged struggle — bring resolution.
Where there has been incompatibility — bring unity.
Where there has been disagreement — bring understanding.
We will pursue peace as instructed in Psalm 34:14 — seeking it and chasing after it.
Father, let this Monday mark a fresh start in our marriage.
Let reconciliation be our priority.
Let humility be our posture.
Let love be our language.
We declare: Conflict will not control us. Christ will.
We declare: Our marriage will not waste time in division.
We declare: We are redeeming the time by resolving conflict God’s way.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
