Stand My Ground – Lev 26:7-8
Leviticus 26:7-8 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
Oh, how great are the promises of YHWH! As we read our scripture this week, we see one of the many promises of YHWH in the scriptures for us today. Of course, back in this time when this was written, this probably would have been literal but for us today it's more of a spiritual concept.
What does this concept look like for us today? Well, just like Messiah said in Luke chapter 22, verse 31, he told Simon, "Behold, Satan hath desired to have you that he might sift you as wheat." It's the same thing for us today; Satan is trying to sift us as wheat. Satan might know us better than we know our own selves. He's trying to get us off track. Satan will do anything he can to get our eyes off of YHWH and our victory in YHWH. He'll put any kind of vice or anything he knows is a weakness in front of us just to make us fall. Satan knows where he's going, and he wants to take as many people as he can with him.
Let's see what the word has to say here. Exodus chapter 4, verse 13…
Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of YHWH, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
We see in the Scripture above how Moses brought the children of Israel to the edge of the Red Sea. With the Egyptians coming behind him, they had no way out, but Moses Raised his staff and, through the power of YHWH, the Red Sea split in half, and they went up on dry ground. When they got through, the Egyptians came through also, but they were drowned in the Red Sea, showing YHWH's protection over his people.
It's just like it says in Joshua chapter 3, verse 10: "He, YHWH, it is that fights for you and has promised you."
Also, in Zechariah chapter 4, verse 6…
Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of YHWH unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith YHWH of hosts.
And in Deuteronomy chapter 32, verse 30
Deuteronomy 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and YHWH had shut them up?
You might say, "How do I know when Satan is coming against me?" Well, if Satan is telling you to do something that is contradictory to the word of YHWH, you'd know it's of Satan and not of YHWH.
So, how do you fight against Satan? Well, as I said earlier, our battle is not a physical battle. It is a spiritual battle. We're told in the book of James, chapter 4, verse 7, how we can defeat Satan…
James 4:7 Submit (Obey) yourselves therefore to YHWH. Resist (to stand against, that is, oppose) the devil, and he will flee (to run away (literally or figuratively); by implication to shun; by analogy to vanish) from you.
I'm going to close this study today with this scripture, Romans chapter 6, verse 20.
Romans 16:20 And the Elohim of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Saviour YHWH Messiah be with you.
