THE COST OF OUR CALLING.

The Cost Of Being Called By God Will Cost Us Everything

BEING CALLED BY GOD IS AN HONOR, but it is not convenient. THE CALL WILL COST US COMFORT.

It will cost us relationships that cannot go where you’re going. It will cost us VERSIONS OF OURSELF that God never authorized to survive the next season.

MANY WANT THE OIL WITHOUT THE ALTAR. THE CROWN WITHOUT THE CROSS. THE PLATFORM WITHOUT THE PROCESS.

But GOD DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE TO ADD HIM TO THEIR LIFE. HE CALLS PEOPLE TO LAY THEIR LIFE DOWN.

Luke 9:23 NASB1995
[23] And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

When God calls us, He disrupts our plans.
He interrupts our patterns.
He pulls us out of agreement with people, places, and mindsets that no longer fit the assignment.

Matthew 10:39 NASB1995
[39] He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.

THE CALL WILL COST US
• Familiarity • Approval • Popularity • Control • Comfort

BUT WHAT WE GAIN CANNOT BE COMPARED.

Philippians 3:8 NASB1995
[8] More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

Some seasons feel like loss, but they are actually exchanges.
GOD REMOVED WHAT IS TEMPORARY TO GIVE US WHAT IS ETERNAL.

Genesis 12:1 NASB1995
[1] Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;

Abram had to leave before he could inherit.
Elisha had to burn the plow before he could follow.
Jesus required the rich young ruler to release what owned him.

1 Kings 19:21 NASB1995
[21] So he returned from following him, and took the pair of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the implements of the oxen, and gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah and ministered to him.

THE CALL COSTS EVERYTHING BECAUSE HALF-SIZE RENDER PRODUCES DELAYED OBEDIENCE.

But hear this clearly
GOD NEVER TAKES WITHOUT REPLACING.
He never strips without CLOTHING US IN PURPOSE.
He never breaks without REBUILDING US STRONGER.

Mark 10:29-30 NASB1995
[29] Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, [30] but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.

The COST IS REAL. The PROCESS IS PAINFUL. But the REWARD IS WORTH IT.

GOD IS CALLING US, DON’T NEGOTIATE THE PRICE.
Lay it all down. He’s not after what we have. He’s after all of us.
