Psalm 38:9-16 Comparing ETR Cowboys for Christ, TLB The Book 1 Year, NIV Today's Light, NLV Blue, TLB The Way 1972, NIV Ryrie SB, Israel Bible, TOL 52 Torah
Psalm 38:9-16 ETR Cowboys for Christ My Lord, you heard my groaning. You can hear my sighs.
My heart is pounding. My strength is gone, and I am going blind.
Because of my sickness, my friends and neighbors will not visit me; my family will not come near me.
My enemies say bad things about me. They are spreading lies and rumors. They talk about me all the time.
But I am like a deaf man and cannot hear. I am like someone who cannot speak.
I am like those who cannot hear what people are saying about them. I cannot answer to prove my enemies wrong.
LORD, you must defend me. Lord my God, you must speak for me.
That's why I prayed, "Don't let my enemies smile at my pain. Full of pride, they will laugh if I stumble and fall."
Psalm 38:9-17 February 21 TLB The Book Year Lord, you know how I long for my health once more. You hear my every sigh.
My heart beats wildly, my strength fails, and I am going blind.
My loved ones and friends stay away, fearing my disease. Even my own family stands at a distance.
Meanwhile my enemies are trying to kill me. They plot my ruin and spend all their waking hours planning treachery.
But I am deaf to all their threats;
I am silent before them as a man who cannot speak. I have nothing to say.
For I am waiting for you. O Lord my God. Come and protect me.
Put an end to their arrogance, these who gloat when I am cast down!
How constantly I find myself upon the verge of sin; this source of sorrow always stares me in my face.
Psalm 38:9-17 Week 45 NIV Today's Light All my longings lie open before you, O Lord; my sighing is not hidden from you.
My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes.
My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds; my neighbors stay far away.
Those who seek my life set their traps, those who would harm ne talk of my ruin; all day long they plot deception.
I am like a deaf man, who cannot hear, like a mute, who cannot open his mouth;
I have become like a man who does not hear, whose mouth can offer no reply.
I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.
For I said, "Do not let them gloat or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips."
For I am about to fall, and my pain is ever with me.
Psalm 38:9-17 NLV Blue Lord, all my desire is before You. And my breathing deep within is not hidden from You.
My heart beats fast. My strength leaves me. Even the light of my eyes has gone from me.
My loved ones and my friends stay away from me because of my sickness. My family stands far away.
Those who want to take my life set their traps. And those who want to destroy me talk about ways to do it. They make their sinful plan all day long.
But like a deaf man, I do not hear. I am like one who cannot speak and does not open his mouth.
Yes, I am like a man who does not hear, and whose mouth does not argue.
For I hope in You, O Lord. You will answer, O Lord my God.
For I said, "Do not let them be happy and raise themselves up against me when my foot trips."
For I am ready to fall. And my sorrow is always with me.
