Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

So, I am annoyed with myself but really cannot blame anyone but myself. Since the first of the year, I have been monitoring my weight weekly. Watching what I eat, trying to walk a little more. Anything to help take off some of these pounds. I am taking the slow and steady wins the race approach. It did not all appear overnight, so I cannot expect it to disappear overnight. (I would be scared if that happened, to be honest.) I was prepared for an increase because of our trip; however, I thought that with all the walking we did, it would be smaller. I was wrong. I went back up 5 pounds. I am annoyed. Again, at no one … but myself.

Good news, though; I was able to schedule my counseling session with HR for my retirement. It is in two weeks. I was beginning to think that I would have to listen to an automated system for 20 minutes, only to be told that I have a two-hour wait to speak with a human being. Especially since it was not available to me on Saturday online. However, I now have it scheduled for one of my days off next month.

Today is a good day. We have an appointment for an equipment check, and then Mom has a hair appointment later this afternoon. A simple, straightforward day. As I understand it, the weather is supposed be decent today, and the bottom fall out of the freezer tomorrow. Apparently, the check bounced for the heating bill.

Though I am annoyed with myself and my choices, I cannot change what I have done; however, I can change what I do. I can choose to make better choices. I can choose to walk away from the sweets. I can choose to drink water instead of soda. I can choose to be kind to others. I can choose. Yes, my choices over the past few days are going to be with me; however, they are in the past. What I do moving forward is what defines me. Do I subject the world to my failures and how I feel, or do I subject the world to my confidence that I can overcome this obstacle … One that I created even. I choose Confidence today. How about you?
