Does the mark of the beast exist now?
The Bible identifies the mark of the beast as a false form of worship.
Biblically, this centres on Sunday worship—a change made by human authority, not by God. The Seventh-Day Sabbath (Saturday) is God's chosen holy day.
However, Sunday worship is not the mark of the beast yet.
Why? Because Scripture places the mark in a specific context:
a time when those who refuse to worship the beast and its image are punished financially and physically (Revelation 13:15–17).
The mark is received in two ways:
Forehead — represents the mind and will; acceptance by conviction and belief
Hand — compliance under pressure or coercion
(Revelation 13:16)
At present:
- Sunday worship exists
- Worship is voluntary
- No civil law compels obedience
Until Sunday worship is enforced by law, no one receives the mark—
neither by conviction nor by coercion.
The issue is not merely the day.
The issue is authority in worship—God’s command or human decree.
Who will you worship?
