Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

With storms of life raging all around us, how many of you, in the Midwest, where the winds are howling with a vengeance, feel like the destruction of the wind is an exact representation of your life?

This morning early, like way early, I was awakened by, or maybe it is what soothed me to sleep, but the sounds of a storm moving in. I like to sleep with my window open a little for the fresh air, however last night, knowing the temperature was going to, or was supposed to, drop significantly, closed it. Yet the sounds of the storm settled my spirit, and I was off to meet the sandman. This morning, those same winds are making their presence known, and they are here for a while with no expectation of leaving anytime soon.

My thoughts this morning led me to think about my personal storms. The fact that when they want an entrance, to be seen and heard by all, they enter the room (my life) with a resounding boom (3 trips to the ER with no results). The thunder and lightning (unsolved but potentially life-threatening health concerns) remain in the forefront, so I know that there is a categorically massive storm brewing, and it is going to be destructive … somehow.

When I sat up this morning, listening to the wind outside, I gave thanks for the shelter of my home. That I was protected from the storm and that it could not harm me. The same is true for my personal storms; I live in Jesus (my home), and He is my shelter from any harm that may be caused by them. I may sense the strength of the storm, but He is my protection. I may become anxious about the storm, but He is my peace. There is nothing in that storm that can take away from me what He has given me. He is my rock, my foundation, my shelter, but most of all, He is my God. As long as I keep my eyes on that perfect fact, the enemy has no traction in my storm and will soon be blown away.

Be blessed.

**But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened. –1 Peter 3:14
