LEAST IN THE KINGDOM

So long as we observe the important rules in the Bible, like the Ten Commandments, why should we worry about all the little stuff? The Master told His disciples to be careful to keep both the small commandments and the big ones. All God's commandments are important, and even the light commandments should not be ignored.

We don't want to neglect any commandment of the Torah that applies to us today. The Talmud compares one of the greatest commandments, 'Honor your father and mother' (Exodus 20:12), with one of the least of the commandments, 'You shall not take the mother with the young' (Deuteronomy 22:6). The reward for both commandments is the same: 'That it may be will with you and that you may prolong your days.' This is why rabbis say, 'Be as careful observing a small commandment as a great one, for you do not know what the reward of each is!'

The reward for observing God's commandments will be revealed in the Messianic Age (Kingdom of God on earth). Those who have kept both the small ones and the great ones will be called great in the Kingdom.

Matthew 5:19: "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.''
