HEROES FOR HEAVEN – DAY 6
“Tear Down the Idols”
There’s a danger in building something God never asked for.
Habakkuk 2 shifts from waiting… to warning.
“Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed…”
“Woe to him who trusts in idols…”
Strong words. Why?
Because anything we build without God will eventually collapse under its own weight.
An idol isn’t just a statue.
It’s anything we trust more than Him.
Success can become an idol.
Reputation can become an idol.
Control can become an idol.
Even ministry can become an idol.
God is not threatened by our gifts.
He is concerned about our foundations.
If the foundation is pride, it will crack.
If the foundation is self-reliance, it will shake.
But then comes the promise:
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord…”
Empires fall.
Glory remains.
Today is a heart check.
What are you building?
Who gets the credit?
Who holds the control?
And then the anchor again:
“The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence.”
Silence the ego.
Silence the need to prove.
Silence the self-promotion.
God doesn’t need our hype.
He desires our surrender.
Selah.
