Day 2 – Jochebed: The River Release
Scripture: Exodus 2:1–10; Hebrews 11:23
She builds a basket.
Not a cradle — a coffin-shaped ark.
The Nile had swallowed other Hebrew boys.
Every mother in Egypt knew that sound of soldiers’ footsteps.
She seals the basket with pitch.
Places her baby inside.
And pushes him away.
No guarantee.
No angelic announcement.
Just surrender.
The river becomes the pathway to Pharaoh’s house.
Impossible obedience sometimes feels like losing.
But in her letting go, she preserved a deliverer.
