There Is None Like the Lord

Standing on the Solid Rock

1 Samuel chapter 2 records Hannah’s prayer of praise after God answered her request. What began in chapter 1 as tears and longing now turns into worship and declaration. Hannah does not focus first on the gift she received. She focuses on the character of the Giver.

In verse 2 she proclaims that there is none like the Lord. He is holy, set apart, unmatched, and unchanging. She also calls Him a rock. This imagery speaks of strength, stability, and reliability. While circumstances shift and emotions fluctuate, God remains firm and secure.

Hannah’s praise flows from experience. She had known sorrow, misunderstanding, and waiting. Now she knew fulfillment. Through both seasons she discovered that God is dependable. Her worship is rooted not merely in answered prayer but in who God is.

This chapter teaches that true praise rises from understanding God’s character. Blessings may vary, but God’s holiness and faithfulness never change. When we anchor our lives on Him, we stand on a foundation that cannot be shaken.

For believers today 1 Samuel 2 reminds us to praise God for who He is, not only for what He gives. When we recognize Him as our rock, we gain stability in every season.

Prayer

Lord God You alone are holy and there is none like You. Thank You for being my rock and my foundation. Help me to anchor my life in Your unchanging character and to worship You in every season. In Jesus name Amen..
