We wake early for work, stay up late for deadlines, and push through exhaustion for what matters to us. Yet how easily we grow drowsy before God. Whether we admit it or not, being a Christian is not about attending church service—it is about awakening worship. The question is not about whether we gather—but about whether we behold God’s splendor or drift into slumber.

David’s worship was not shallow emotion—it was truth-fed adoration. This is a hymn of meditation turned into proclamation. David studies before he sings. He considers before he celebrates. His worship grew because his mind stayed on God’s majesty. Like staring at the night sky until more stars appear, the more we meditate, the more we marvel. Drowsy hearts produce empty hymns.

Scripture binds meditation to worship. Truth fuels reverence; reverence fuels rejoicing.

When truth dwells richly, praise rises naturally. We cannot run on empty and expect overflow. What fills the mind forms the worship.

When we look unto Him, slumber gives way to splendor, and meditation becomes exaltation.

So the question remains—splendor or slumber? You don’t need Christ just to improve your worship routine; you need Him to open your eyes to His majesty. Pause. Behold. Acknowledge His works. Let truth stir worship until praise becomes the language of your heart.
