We live in a culture obsessed with the “๐ง๐ข๐ด๐ต ๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ”—where worth is measured by speed. We scroll quicker, work harder, pray shorter, and chase spiritual growth like a highโspeed download, yet our souls feel slower than ever. Whether we are exhausted from running or discouraged from stumbling, the question is not how fast we move, but about whose path we pace. That is where this journey begins.
Israel had religion without reverence—offerings were many, but hearts were wandering. They wanted shortcuts—rituals without repentance, solutions without submission. Yet, God wanted a walk worthy, not a walk flashy.
If God calls us to walk, not rush, then we must ask if our pace matches His. This verse cuts through our cluttered lives like a gentle rebuke—calling us back to a humble, steady pace, like a father holding a child’s hand, guiding each step with love, not pressure.
Scripture consistently shows that God blesses the walkers, not the rushers. The righteous “๐ด๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ช๐ท๐ฆ ๐ฃ๐บ ๐ฉ๐ช๐ด ๐ง๐ข๐ช๐ต๐ฉ” (๐๐๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ฎ๐ค ๐:๐). God’s way has always been a path, not a race track.
God never praised haste. Abraham waited decades. Joseph endured years in prison. David walked for years as a fugitive before his crown. Saul rushed and fell Esau hurried and lost what mattered A car without brakes crashes; a soul without humility drifts.
Jesus didn’t sprint to Calvary—He walked toward Jerusalem (๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ ๐:๐๐), step by agonizing step, in perfect obedience and deliberately and lovingly toward our salvation. He could have summoned angels, descended in power, or bypassed suffering, but He chose the slow pace of redemption. He walked so we could learn to walk worthily. He waited so we could learn patience.
You don’t need Christ just for salvation—you need Him to sanctify your steps. You don’t need to catch up, fix your pace, or sprint in the “๐ง๐ข๐ด๐ต ๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ” today. You need one step with Jesus. Just one. Not tomorrow’s or yesterday’s regrets—just today’s humble walk. The question is not how fast you can go, but whether you are walking with Him at all. Are you chasing results—or walking with the Redeemer?
Heavenly Father, teach our hearts to walk at Your pace. Slow our hurried spirits, steady our wandering steps, and help us delight in the path You choose. Lead us in justice, mercy, and humble obedience each day. Strengthen our walk by Your grace. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!
