There is a frustration sweeping through the Body of Christ that I must address with the fire of the Holy Spirit. You are fasting for forty days. You are screaming "Receive!" until your voice is hoarse. You are quoting the promises with precision. But nothing is moving. You are blaming God’s sovereignty. You are blaming "the process." You are even blaming the devil. But the Spirit of the Lord sent me to bring an indictment against your foundation. Your problem isn't your prayer; it’s the platform from which you are praying. 1. The Theology of the Altar In the spirit, the Altar is the legal landing strip for the Answer. You cannot expect the fire of God to fall on a table dedicated to Baal. Hebrews 13:10 declares a devastating spiritual reality: > "We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle." There are "altars" that disqualify you from the "meat" of the New Covenant. If you are trying to eat from the Altar of Christ while still serving the "Tabernacle" of your flesh, your ancestors, or your secret idols, you have created a Spiritual Mismatch. The "right to eat"—the right to see the answer—is revoked. 2. The Indictment: The "Double-Altar" Syndrome Many of you are trying to "sync" the Kingdom of God with the kingdom of self. * You pray for a financial miracle on the Altar of God, but you practice greed and stinginess on the Altar of Mammon. * You pray for spiritual power, but your eyes are constantly feeding on lust at the Altar of the Screen. * You pray for destiny helpers, but your heart is full of bitterness and unforgiveness—the Altar of Malice. James 4:3 pierces through our religious facade: > "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." "Asking amiss" isn't just about using the wrong words; it’s about praying from the wrong posture. When you pray from an altar of compromise, your prayer is an abomination, not an incense. You are asking a Holy God to fund a profane lifestyle. 3. The Confrontation: Fire Only Falls on Sacrifice In 1 Kings 18, Elijah didn't just pray; he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. He didn't start shouting for fire until the stones were in place and the sacrifice was laid. Why is your answer delayed? * Because you are offering Correct Prayers on a Broken Altar. * Because you want the Product (The Answer) without the Process (Consecration). God is not a vending machine where you insert "prayer points" and receive "blessings" regardless of the state of your heart. He is a Consuming Fire.
