“𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭,
𝘉𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭.”

Deadlines chase, notifications buzz, headlines scream, and a hustle that never hits pause. Our world is a construction zone of noise, where quickness rules—fast replies, fast decisions, fast emotions. Even our prayers feel rushed, as if God must keep up with our pace. The question is not whether we are doing more, but about whether we are knowing God more. That is where we hush our hustle.

🕮 𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟒𝟔:𝟏𝟎 speaks directly into our restless age: “𝘉𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘎𝘰𝘥: 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯, 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩.” Israel faced roaring waters, shaking mountains, and raging nations. Yet God did not command them to fight harder or run faster—He called them to stillness. Stillness was not escape; it was revelation. Not inactivity; intimacy.

“𝘉𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭” means to cease striving. Stop running. Start knowing. Start listening. A phone can’t receive a call while dialing out. Nor can a soul hear God while busy with his own plans. When nations raged, God reigned. When the earth moved, His throne did not. The storm was loud—but His Throne was louder. The command was not panic—but pause.

Scripture consistently links stillness with salvation. “𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋” (𝐄𝐱𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐬 𝟏𝟒:𝟏𝟑). “𝘐𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘦 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘥; 𝘪𝘯 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩” (𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝟑𝟎:𝟏𝟓). Rest is not weakness—it is worship. Silence is not surrender to fear but submission to faith.

The Bible also warns that it deafens the heart. Samuel learned to say, “𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬, 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋; 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘩” (𝟏 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝟑:𝟏𝟎). “𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟒:𝟒). Elijah heard God not in wind or fire, but in a still small voice (𝟏 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝟏𝟗:𝟏𝟐). A radio tuned to static cannot receive a signal; a heart tuned to hurry cannot receive His voice.

And Christ Himself invites us: “𝘊ome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟏𝟏:𝟐𝟖). The same Lord who commands stillness grants rest. The question is not how much we can hustle for God, but about how still we can be before Him. We rush—He reigns. We strive—He saves. We hurry—He holds.

Will you hush your hustle today? You don’t need Christ merely to manage your chaos—you need Him to master your heart. Close the app. Turn down the noise. Open His Word. Bow in quiet. The question is not how busy you are, but about whether you are still enough to know Him.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, quiet our striving hearts and calm our restless minds. Teach us to cease from anxious effort and trust in Thy sovereign rule. Help us find strength in stillness and peace in Thy presence. Rule our hearts as we rest in Thee. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!
