THE HALFWAY DELIVERANCE: Why You Are Forgiven But Still Fettered
Saints of the Most High, listen with your spirit!
There is a tragedy in the pews today. I see believers who are genuinely "saved," whose names are written in the Book of Life, yet they are living in the shadows of their past. They have been to the Altar of Forgiveness, but they have skipped the Altar of Renunciation.
You wonder why you still struggle with the same "family patterns." You wonder why, despite your "I'm sorry, Lord," the taste for the forbidden still lingers on your tongue. The Spirit of the Lord sent me to bring a sharp, surgical word: Forgiveness settles your standing with God, but Renunciation breaks your contract with the devil.
1. The Theological Divide: Mercy vs. Liberty
We must understand the dual nature of our liberation. When you repent, God, in His infinite mercy, wipes the slate clean. Your sin is gone. But if that sin was an "agreement"—a door you opened to a familiar spirit—that spirit doesn't leave just because you felt bad. It leaves when you evict it.
Look at the mandate in Isaiah 58:6:
> "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?"
>
Notice the verbs: Loose. Undo. Let go. Break. These are aggressive, intentional actions. Forgiveness is a gift you receive; Renunciation is a mandate you enforce. You can be a forgiven child of God and still be carrying "bands of wickedness" from your occultic foundations or your sexual past.
2. The Indictment: The Sin of "Sentimental Keeping"
The reason many of you are in "spiritual transit" for forty years is that you have asked for forgiveness for the act, but you still cherish the accessory.
* You ask for forgiveness for "anger," but you refuse to renounce the "spirit of your father's house" that fuels it.
* You ask for forgiveness for "immorality," but you keep the gifts, the photos, and the "soul ties" of the person who led you astray.
Acts 19:18-19 gives us the blueprint for true revival:
> "And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men..."
>
They were already "believers," but they realized that confession wasn't enough. They had to burn the "books." If you haven't burned the legal "books" of your past, the enemy still has a library card to your soul!
3. The Confrontation: Stop Decorating Your Chains
You call it a "weakness." God calls it an Agreement. You call it "personality." God calls it a Yoke.
2 Corinthians 4:2 says:
> "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty..."
>
To renounce (Greek: apeipon) means to "forbid further access" or "to speak against." If you do not verbally, spiritually, and physically renounce your past alliances, you are telling the spirit realm that the contract is still valid. Forgiveness deals with the guilt, but Renunciation deals with the grip.
THE LEGAL EVICTION NOTICE
* Forgiveness: "Lord, I am sorry I went to the herbalist/psychic." (God: You are forgiven.)
* Renunciation: "In the Name of Jesus, I renounce the covenant made with that altar. I break the legal right of that spirit to monitor my life. I divorce that union!" (The Enemy: I must leave.)
CALL TO ACTION: BEYOND THE TEARS
Tonight, we are not just crying at the altar; we are serving eviction notices.
* Identify the "Bands": What pattern keeps repeating despite your prayers? Is it poverty? Lust? Fear? Chronic sickness?
* The Verbal Divorce: Stand in your room and speak out loud. "I renounce [Name of Sin/Pattern]. I declare that I no longer belong to that lineage of darkness. I break the yoke!"
* Clean the House: If there are physical objects tied to your past (charms, "souvenirs" of sin, ungodly music), burn them. Do not donate your demons to a thrift store.
