DAY 12 – The Secret Place
2nd Sunday of Lent
Scripture: Book of Psalms 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Thought Of The Day...
Protection Flows from Proximity
The promise of Psalm 91 is not given to the occasional visitor—it belongs to the one who dwells. To dwell means to remain, to settle, to live there. The secret place is not a location on a map; it is a posture of the heart. It is the space where prayer becomes communion, where worship becomes surrender, and where fear loses its voice.
In this Lenten season, we are invited deeper—not just into discipline, but into intimacy. God’s protection is not merely a shield around us; it is the result of closeness with Him. When we draw near, we discover that His shadow covers every anxiety, every attack, every uncertainty.
The shadow of the Almighty is not darkness—it is divine covering. Just as a child rests safely beside a loving father, so the believer rests under the presence of God. The closer we stand to Him, the greater our confidence becomes.
This Sunday, don’t just seek His hand—seek His heart. The secret place is where burdens are exchanged for peace, where striving is replaced with trust, and where heaven whispers assurance over your life.
Protection flows from proximity. Stay close.

Prayer...
Father, draw me into Your secret place. Quiet every distraction that pulls me away from You and silence every voice that competes with Your truth. Slow my hurried thoughts and calm my restless heart so I can recognize Your presence surrounding me. Teach me to dwell, not just visit—to remain with You in trust, obedience, and love. Let my time with You become the foundation of my strength and the source of my peace.
Cover me under Your shadow and let Your presence be my refuge. When fear rises, remind me that You are near. When uncertainty comes, anchor me in Your promises. Hide me in the shelter of Your wings and guard my heart and mind from anxiety and doubt. Shape my desires so that I long for closeness with You above all else. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration...
I dwell under God’s shadow. I live in His presence, and I am covered by His peace and protection.
