Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Yesterday’s kerfuffle worked out okay. Instead of being in overtime or using a large amount of sick leave, the works of the day landed me in almost an eight-hour workday. It was a long day for me, but everything worked out. I think that the circus of my circumstances is starting to weigh more heavily than before. I am going to have to make some adjustments to things until this rollercoaster ride to the end is over. I am not sure I can drink enough coffee to repair or maintain, and that is saying something hahaha. Even the dog is pestering me for cuddles this morning, so she must sense my inside.
On our drive to the doctor yesterday, my husband and I discussed plans for after retirement. We are hitting the book signing circuit again. I have made a list of twenty libraries with their phone numbers, I am looking at different town events, and I am looking at book-centered events. Now the challenge is not to overwhelm myself with this avenue of life before it even starts. Haha. I am excited about the different places we will go to as a team and spread the word through my books.
He has told me that if we are going to do that, then I need to get more copies in the house. The very thing he did not want in the beginning … a bunch of unsold books in boxes hahaha. I love my man. He is my business agent and promoter in so many ways. I will be looking at something in a store or at a flea market, and the next thing I know, I am being asked about books by some random person I don’t know. It is great and odd all at the same time.
There is a misconception that man has placed regarding God, in my opinion. That He will not give you more than YOU can handle, that is not the case. He will not give you more than HE can handle, and HE wants you to lean on him for that support. God does not want US to handle our situations; He wants us to lean into and on Him for the guidance and support, and the comfort that He provides to get us through a situation. He wants us to focus on Him, not the storm. Yesterday, I allowed my eyes to see the storm, and it did not take long for me to feel like I was drowning. But. When I redirected my eyes to Him, I was only damp and no longer sinking. He gave me the answers that I was seeking.
When we keep our eyes on the chaos, that is all we see, and we feel like there is no way out. However, it only takes a split second of refocusing, and the pressures of the chaos are minimized to almost nothing. Keep your eyes on Him, the one with the answers and the protection. It is difficult, trust me, I know, but it is possible.
Be blessed.
