We are obsessed with control—our schedules, our careers, our relationships. We grip life tightly, fearing that if we loosen our hold, everything will fall apart. But the question is not whether we are moving, but about who is steering. If we never release the wheel, we will never rest in the Driver who sees the whole road. Surrender is not losing—it's learning to let God lead.
Solomon wrote this to remind Israel that human planning is limited, but divine guidance is limitless. We may map our days, but God governs our direction.
“๐๐ช๐ณ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ฆ๐ต๐ฉ” means to establish, arrange, or make straight. God does not merely approve our plans—He aligns our steps. Like a skilled conductor guiding every instrument, He orders our movements with wisdom we cannot see. Surrender is not losing control—it is trusting the One who never misleads.
When we release our grip, God steadies our steps.
Like a passenger grabbing controls mid-flight, resisting the Pilot only causes turbulence.
Christ Himself prayed in Gethsemane, “๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ธ๐ช๐ญ๐ญ, ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ต ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ, ๐ฃ๐ฆ ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ” (๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ ๐๐:๐๐). The Saviour who surrendered perfectly now leads surrendered hearts. When we release the wheel and follow Christ, our steps are guided, guarded, and grounded in His will. We do not lose direction—we gain His.
So, are we still gripping the wheel of our future? We do not need Christ merely to fix wrong turns; we need Him to lead every mile. The world preaches self-control; Scripture calls for Christ-control. Will we keep forcing the route—or finally trust and release control to the Lord who directs our steps?
Heavenly Father, teach me to release the wheel and trust Your direction. Calm my striving, quiet my fears, and guide my steps in Your perfect will. Lead me where my wisdom fails and Your grace prevails. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!
